About Us

An IEEPA tariff refund specialist built on three decades of expertise.

TTM's credibility in this space is grounded in over three decades of specialist tax recovery practice. Established in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1993, the firm built its expertise navigating the early years of the European VAT refund system — at the time a nascent framework with no established playbook for non-resident claimants. The discipline and institutional knowledge developed during that period continues to distinguish TTM today as a specialist in IEEPA and Trump tariff refund recovery — an environment where refund mechanisms are new, evolving, and imperfectly understood by those entitled to benefit from them.

Over three decades, TTM recovered millions of dollars in VAT refunds for a client base of more than 1,100 companies across the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Taiwan, serving organizations ranging from large multinational corporations to small independent firms.

In 2026, following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling striking down IEEPA-based tariffs, TTM relaunched as a dedicated IEEPA tariff refund specialist — bringing its unique expertise to bear on one of the most significant domestic claims opportunities in recent history. The firm now exclusively assists businesses with U.S. import activity in recovering Trump tariffs paid to Customs and Border Protection, applying the same quality approach that has defined its work for over three decades.

Co-Managing Director

Ayana Enomoto-Hurst

Growing up with a ringside seat to her mother's work building TTM from the ground up, Ayana Enomoto-Hurst has developed an innate understanding of the business. She began her career at TTM as a Traveling Auditor, spending a number of years working directly with clients across the firm's international portfolio before stepping away to broaden her professional experience.

Over the course of her career she consulted across a range of industries and enterprises, developing a wider commercial perspective. Recognizing the opportunity created by the U.S. Supreme Court's 2026 ruling on IEEPA tariffs, she spearheaded the relaunch of TTM as a U.S. tariff refund practice.

As Co-Managing Director, she now leads TTM's operational management and strategic direction.

Your values, our principles

What has guided every client engagement since 1993 and what you can expect when you work with TTM.

01

Specialist, Not Generalist

Tax recovery is all we do. Unlike large advisory firms for whom refund claims are one practice among many, every TTM engagement is handled by people whose entire focus is identifying and recovering what clients are owed.

02

Turnkey, Not Advisory

Our clients provide the records. We handle everything else — the documentation, the filing, the follow-through, and the deadline management. Our clients do not need to learn the process. They just need to trust the people managing it.

03

Transparent, Not Opaque

Fee structures are agreed clearly at the outset of every engagement — before any work begins. Whether a percentage-of-recovery, fixed-fee, or hybrid arrangement makes most sense, TTM works with each client to find the right structure.
